Nintendo has gained a long-running authorized battle towards French sharehosting operator Dstorage.
Following a choice dated February 26, 2025, the French Supreme Courtroom discovered Dstorage “accountable for failing to take away entry to unauthorised copies of Nintendo video games saved on its platform” – referring to the filehosting web site 1fichier.com.

Nintendo initially filed a lawsuit towards Dstorage in 2021, after it had beforehand demanded the corporate take down unauthorised Nintendo video games saved on 1fichier.com.
Dstorage appealed the choice, which failed when in April 2023 the Paris Court of Appeals ordered the company to pay Nintendo €422,750 in compensation and €25,000 in authorized charges.

Nintendo has been cracking down on piracy as of late. In November, it asked a US District Court to subpoena business records from various firms as a part of its lawsuit against James ‘Archbox Williams’ over alleged piracy changes.
It has additionally sought authorized motion towards Ryan Michael Daly of Modded {Hardware} – a web site that sells modded consoles, pirated video games, and mod chips.
